Bali has officially implemented the new tourist levy for international visitors starting from February 14, 2024. The levy, set at IDR 150,000 (approximately USD 10), is designed to contribute to the preservation of Bali's unique cultural heritage and environment.
Why the Levy?
The primary goal of this initiative is to address the challenges posed by mass tourism. The funds collected will be allocated towards waste management projects, cultural preservation programs, and infrastructure improvements that benefit both locals and visitors.
How to Pay
Tourists can pay the levy online through the Love Bali website or mobile app before their arrival. Payment counters are also available at I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport and Benoa Harbour, though paying in advance is strongly recommended to avoid queues.
Exemptions
Certain categories of visitors are exempt from the levy, including diplomatic visa holders, KITAS/KITAP holders, and student visa holders. Proper documentation must be presented to claim these exemptions.
